Professor Arzu Yorgancıoğlu is head of the Department of Pulmonology at Celal Bayar University in Manisa, Turkey. She is a clinical specialist in pulmonology and has a long term scientific interest in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and COPD. She has published more than 180 scientific papers and is a member of the international and national advisory boards and steering committees of several pharmaceutical companies. She has been a member of the Turkish Thoracic Society Executive Committee for eight years, and she is the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Turkey Delegate. She is also a member of the ERS Membership Committee, the ERS Asthma and Clinical Allergy Assembly and the American Thoracic Society International Lung Health Committee. She is the vice chair of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Alliance against chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD) Executive Committee.
